Dr. Cooper was inspired to become a dentist while going through
reconstructive dentistry as a young adult. As a dental trauma
patient himself he was personally exposed to all disciplines of
dentistry. His interest in the dental field, and his “values” for a
beautiful and functional smile were thus sparked.
Dr. Barry Cooper graduated with distinction from McGill
University with an honours degree in Microbiology and Immunology.
He then completed his dental degree also at McGill. Since
graduation he has been practicing general dentistry in the National
Capital Region, primarily focusing on patients requiring complex
interdisciplinary dental care.
Dr Cooper is a member of the International Team for
Implantology, Canadian Dental Association, Quebec Dental
Association, and Order of dentists of Quebec. Seriously dedicated
to continuing education, Dr. Cooper is active in two local study
clubs located in both the Ottawa and Gatineau regions. He is
a regular speaker and mentor for his colleagues in the areas of
complex treatment planning, implant and cosmetic
dentistry.
Outside work hours Dr. Cooper can regularly be seen on his
bicycle, in his kayak or on his cross-country skis taking the time
to appreciate the natural environment surrounding his Chelsea
residence. His areas of interests include music and the culinary
arts. At home he will most often be seen in the kitchen or playing
one of a variety of musical instruments he collects.
